Benefits of CABI Membership
CABI aims to be the voice of business incubators, accelerators, innovation hubs and start-up business service providers across Canada by connecting key stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem. We collaborate with with business incubators, accelerators, innovation centres, entrepreneurial hubs co-working spaces, government and academia to focus on three main pillars:
- Knowledge sharing and facilitating on best practices: through partnership, CABI provides specific training, conferences, seminars and workshops to support the development, design and operations of business incubators and accelerators across Canada.
- Certification and Start-up Visa administration: CABI, in partnership with the federal Start-up Visa program, is able to review and recommend qualified member organizations to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for certification as a Start-up Visa Incubator/Accelerator. - Industry leadership, including government advocacy and international relations: CABI creates strategic partnerships and alliances nationally and internationally to benefit our members. Many of these partnerships represent both the public and private interests in the industry.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
- Organizations: incubators, accelerators, innovation centres and research hubs that are directly involved in business incubation / acceleration services. These organizations typically have an application process, defined programs and services, mentor networks and milestones directly related to graduation.
- Affiliates: organizations that have an interest in or work with business incubation / acceleration clients, such as professional services firms, co-working spaces, economic development offices, investors and entrepreneurial associations.
- Individuals: people doing related work in academia, government, or private organizations.
Membership is registered in the name(s) of the person representing the organization and is annual from the date membership dues are paid (i.e. Oct. 25, 2016 - Oct. 24, 2017). Organization and Affiliate memberships include up to 3 individual names who have access to the membership portal. Additional memberships can be purchased for $50 per individual.
