Statistics Canada's Study of Business Incubation

CABI is pleased to partner with Statistics Canada in measuring the success of business incubation on a national level.

Statistics Canada’s landmark study, “Characteristics of Business Incubation in Canada, 2005” provided a strong basis to benchmark and quantify the economic impact of our industry.  The report has been widely referenced by industry professionals, decision-makers and stakeholders.

Our research shows that while many organizations do not market themselves as business incubators, they provide programs and services which nurture the growth of new and early-stage businesses.  By definition, we consider these to be virtual business incubators.   CABI would to see the impact of these programs captured in this year’s Statistics Canada survey.

CABI feels it essential to document our industry’s support of business development and innovation in Canada.  We encourage full participation in Statistics Canada Survey of Business Incubation, 2007.
